Colin Rogal - Lighting Cameraman

Some jobs are better than others... here we are filming with National Geographic's Naked Science programme "Birth of the Earth". Western Australia is the only place in the world where you can find "Stromatolites", both fossilised and living. The oldest form of life, they've been around for 4.5 billion years and are responsible for the Earth's oxygen atmosphere. The locations pictured are Carbla Point at Shark Bay, Yaringa, the stunning Hamersley Gorge in Karajini, Australia's own North Pole and Port Headland. The team are Martin van Kranendonk (geologist), Martin Gorst (director), Lucy Haken (associate producer), Steve Trowbridge (sound mixer) and yours truly.
